The Pitchfork Top 200 Albums of the Decade list is here! I think I’m going to take the same stance this time around - scan the list each day and then go back this weekend and read all the blurbs when I have time to digest them.
I recognize that for most people, a list’s appeal is the opportunity to gripe / brag about your preferences being shared with the people who are publishing their preferences, and I’m as prone (guilty?) to this as everyone else, but I really enjoy reading the blurbs and admire how these writers can make a compelling case for an album in 200-300 words (not every blurb is this good, but there are far more excellent ones than atrocious ones, in my opinion).
